In collaboration with our surrounding school districts, the Erie County Technical School, situated in northwest Pennsylvania, provides career and technical education to students throughout Erie County.

Students from our partner districts Fairview, Fort LeBoeuf, General McLane, Girard, Harbor Creek, Iroquois, Millcreek, North East, Northwestern, Union City, and Wattsburg can pursue a technical education with us, where they will learn an exciting career and an academic foundation through technical skills and hands-on experience.

Erie county Technical School, Erie PA Career and Technical Education (formerly known as Vo-Tech and more recently referred to as CTE on the political stage) is a career-focused education. In Professional and Technical Education, the curriculum is always tailored to a certain career path and then implemented in both laboratory and practical settings.

Procedure for Registering.

You may sign up for training at Erie county Technical School Education either over the phone or in person. When you register, you must pay your tuition. They accept payment in the form of cash, cheques, credit cards, or purchase orders.

What is the procedure for applying at Erie county Technical School?

ECTS Application

All students interested in attending ECTS from the 11 sending districts must fill up an online application. You can do so by using the button below. To make an application, the student will collaborate with their parent or guardian and will require their school’s email address, first and last names, and date of birth. They will also need the names and email addresses of two teachers to suggest them, as well as the name and email address of their Guidance Counselor for a reference, throughout the application process.

Enrollment decisions are usually made in late February. Decisions will be communicated to students in early March.

The Admissions Procedure

Career Majors in the ECTS

In October, ECTS begins working with all freshmen in our 11 sending districts to assist them explore the 18 professional majors offered by ECTS. Students design their own ECTS experience by selecting three career majors to visit on the November ECTS Showcase Tours. Families are also invited to a Showcase Open House later in the month after the freshman have visited.

Date for Priority Enrollment.

All applications received by the deadline, which is normally around the middle of December, are evaluated first for admission. This is critical since each professional major has a limited number of vacant places. Applications received after this deadline will be considered, but they will be placed on a waiting list, so you should submit your application as soon as possible.

Refunds and Withdrawal Fees

If you cancel at least one week before the start of the class, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your enrollment within the first week of class, you will be charged a $25.00 withdrawal fee. There will be no tuition refunds after the first two class sessions.


Cooperative education is a type of education in which students work together to

Cooperative Education (CO-OP) is a program that strives to provide students with real-world job experience while still providing classroom teaching. Students are employed in program-specific opportunities as educational credit through regional business collaborations. To ensure the best possible experience, our Cooperative Education Coordinator works with the student, the business, and the program teacher. If you want to participate in Cooperative Education, you must first be an ECTS student. Then, for further information, contact your program’s teacher. Services for students.

Our staff of highly skilled support educators collaborates directly with our kids and your school district’s teams to ensure that each student is placed in the most suitable environment and receives the most effective education possible.

Choosing a career path.

Our Career Planning coordinator manages and supports the delivery of a variety of subjects designed to help each student succeed in their career. Throughout the technical program, we offer a comprehensive Career Planning curriculum that is delicately weaved into the classroom training.

Professional Capabilities

Teamwork, leadership, and job preparedness are all part of our professional skills program. Throughout their time at ECTS, all students have courses with our specialized Professional Skills Teacher.

Student-run businesses.

Our activities welcome the public and provide opportunities for our students to work on practical applications in the classroom. This work is usually done as a class and is sourced by our students. In other circumstances, such as our Tech Tikes Preschool, our initiatives will pique the public’s attention.

Academics are supported.

Our curriculum includes devoted and personalized math and reading classes that complement the academics provided by the partner district, preparing all kids for the future. To learn more, go here.


A textbook is used in most classrooms. Textbooks are not included in the price. During the first week of class, books are available for purchase.

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

You must bring your own personal safety equipment if your class demands it. This usually entails wearing safety eyewear and wearing appropriate footwear.

Facility that is handicapped accessible.

Individuals with disabilities have access to all training offered by the Regional Career & Technical Center. If you require special accommodations, please notify us before to the commencement of your lesson.

Certificate of Completion

Students who complete 80 percent or more of their allotted class hours and receive an acceptable grade will receive a certificate.

Discount for Senior Citizens.

Individuals aged 62 and over can enroll in classes for one-half (1/2) the cost of tuition. Senior folks can enroll if the minimum enrollment standards have been reached. Proof of age is required for registration. This discount only applies to tuition; textbooks and other expenses must be paid in full.

Notice of Right to Cancel

The RCTC maintains the right to cancel classes due to low enrolment or other unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will get a full refund if a class is canceled.

Individuals having competence in any of our technical training areas may apply to the RCTC. Please contact the evening supervisor for an application and other information if you or someone you know possesses such knowledge and is prepared to share it with others.
