Nickel Plate Beach in Huron, Ohio is a well-kept secret among residents and a hidden gem for visitors. This is one small beach that will steal your heart, from the amenities to the vistas.
• Nickel Plate Beach is tucked away behind many houses in Huron, a tiny coastal community.
• It’s a beautiful Lake Erie beach that doesn’t get nearly enough notice. (And the residents presumably want it to stay that way.)
• You’ll discover some playground equipment for the kids in addition to some beach volleyball nets.

About Main Street Beach
Main Street Beach is a public swimming beach located on the north end of Main Street in downtown Vermilion, Ohio. An observation deck, a kayak/canoe launch, chairs, an ADA mobility mat, and a concession stand are all available at Main Street Beach.
Wading in the ocean, swimming, bird watching, sand castle building, beach glass hunting, and watching spectacular sunsets are all favorite activities at Vermilion’s Main Street Beach. On the observation deck, locals and visitors mingle. You may also launch a kayak or canoe from this location.

The campsite is within walking distance of a 150-foot public swimming beach on Lake Erie. The sandy sand stretches over 100 feet into the lake, providing plenty of opportunity for swimmers to enjoy the cool waters of Lake Erie. The beach is located across the street from the Glacial Grooves, near the intersection of Division Street and Titus Road, about a mile and a half north of downtown.
The State Park Campground also has access to the beach. The State Park fishing pier, public boat ramp, and North Shore Loop Trail entry are all close by. Kayak Rentals are offered during the summer season, and a small parking area offers convenient access to the facilities and change rooms.

Lions Park Beach is a no-swimming natural beach that is exclusively open to visitors for scenic gazing and beach combing. Basketball courts, fishing, charcoal grills, picnic shelters, playground equipment, rest rooms, sightseeing, walking route, splash pad (from Memorial Day to Labor Day), and wheelchair accessibility are all available at Lions Park Beach. Dogs must be on a leash. The Sandusky Bay Pathway runs the length of the park. 365 days a year, dawn to sunset.
